About
13,001 five-letter words, drawn from a standard word-game dictionary. Every entry is playable; that is the only test for inclusion.
Ordering. Lists put common words first and everything else after, under a heading that says so. Alphabetical order is the obvious choice and the wrong one — it puts aalii above about. The frequency data comes from ordinary written English, not from puzzle answers.
Coverage. On the opener ranking, coverage is the share of the whole list that shares at least one letter with a guess. It is a plain measurement, and it is not the same thing as information gain — a guess that touches almost everything can still split the field badly. It is the simplest useful measure, which is why it is the one shown.
No daily puzzle here. This site does not track any particular game or publish answers. It is a reference for five-letter words, which outlast whichever puzzle is popular.
